Shedding light on resources that have a positive impact on the community is an honorable and everlasting mission. To truly be inspired is a priceless gift that many of us require in order to move forward in this fast moving society. The Sugaberry podcast is undeniably one of the best shows available when it comes to uplifting content. When I hear podcasts like this I always think one thing. “I want more people to hear this!” Especially people I’m close with, so we can chat on the great topics.

The hosts of The Sugaberry are two of the most talented and open-hearted people you’ll listen too. Thai Randolph is an amazing mother of one, mogul and visionary who has built her career through content, marketing and storytelling. She is the President and COO “LOL Network” and “Hartbeat Productions” which are both owned by Comedian/Actor Kevin Hart. Thai has been very successful in closing deals with companies such as NBC Universal’s Peacock Network, Sirius XM Radio and Pandora.

Tika Sumpter is a spectacular mother of one, producer and actress that is most known for her appearances in Gossip Girl and BET’s The Game. She is one of Hollywoods most sought after talents. Tika played a major role in Emmy-award winning movie “One Life To Live” which amassed her a NAACP Image Award Nomination. Here I will give you some input and highlight some of my favorite episodes. I highly recommend you go tune in yourself!

Subject Matter Matters

Who doesn't love content with a purpose? Listening to something that makes you think “I need to start voting more!” or “I need to start giving more!” and most often “I need to start living more!” The right podcast will give you some pep in your step in the right direction. The Sugaberry is one of those podcasts! Don’t get me wrong I love listening to shows like Drink Champs and The Breakfast Club where they discuss some of my favorite artists lives and stories. But The Suga is just different! On The Sugaberry it feels like home. This podcast is a delight from intro to outro. They talk on important subjects especially within the black community in which im am greatly appreciative.

My Favorite Episodes

Rep Cori Bush

This episode stuck out to me because something Rep Cori Bush holds multiple important career roles and in her community along with being a mother. This perspective helps me see whats really possible and important. She speaks on elevating after going through a traumatic childhood and coming to realize the power of therapy. The importance of speaking up to your local representatives and voting on healthcare issues. Along with some nuggets about celebrating the small wins in every step you take.

Cassie

This episode is golden. Growing up, hearing Cassie’s hit song “Me and U” we’d always sing it word for word. It’s great hearing her story and her perspective as a mother. She has two children under three years old and talks about how she integrates motherhood with her life. She gives her take on getting time to herself after having two children right behind each other and how not being alone in three years effected her.

Adrienne Banfield Norris

Adrienne Banfield Norris is a nurse who speaks on her platform “Posetively Gam” about lifestyle and social justice issues. She talks about the commitment of marriage and having a child with someone. Mrs. Norris accompanies her daughter Jada Pinkett and grandaughter Willow Smith on their talk show “Red Table Talk”. She speaks on the importance of having an open mind as well as releasing fear and judgement.
